Camouflage on a service pistol is a matter of taste, but the work behind this one is easy to respect. Each pistol in the 92XI Combat series is hand painted by Howe Arms, a veteran-owned company, so no two carry exactly the same pattern. The Vietnam Tiger Stripe look dates to jungle fighting and was adopted by U.S. Special Forces.

Under the paint is the 92XI in single action only. It has a 4.7 inch barrel, a weight of 3.6 pounds and a 15-round capacity, and two 15-round magazines come in the box. The frame-mounted safety is ambidextrous and sits close to the thumb. The flat-faced trigger, DLC-coated trigger parts and skeletonized hammer are meant to give a crisp pull.

On the range, the weight of the Beretta 92 family helps soak up 9mm recoil, and follow-up shots come back on target quickly. A single action trigger rewards a shooter who has put in the practice, and the safety lets you carry it cocked and locked if you train that way.

This pistol is listed new. It ships to your FFL dealer, and the background check is completed there.
