Carry-sized 1911s have a specific appeal. They give you the slim profile and the clean trigger of the classic design in a shorter package. This Springfield Armory compact is used, chambered in .45 ACP, and includes one magazine. There is no box.

Short-barreled 1911s can be pickier about ammunition and magazines than full-size guns, since the slide cycles faster. Test the pistol with the ammunition you plan to carry, and consider buying a few extra magazines. Check that every magazine seats with a firm click and drops free when you press the release. Wipe it down, put a drop of oil on the rails, and it should give you years of steady service.

A compact .45 is a good option if you want a thin carry gun with a larger bullet. It is lighter than a full-size 1911 and easier to conceal. The recoil is lively, so plan on time at the range to get comfortable.

Look at the photos for wear. Make sure the safeties work and that the slide locks back on an empty magazine. It is sold used and as described. It ships to your FFL dealer, and the background check is completed there.
