A compact pistol that holds up for a full day on the belt is not easy to find. The Echelon 4.0C from Springfield Armory is one of the newer attempts at the job, with a modular system that lets the pistol accept different grip modules and fire control parts.

This one is used and comes with the box and two magazines. It is chambered in 9mm. The Echelon is designed to be optics ready, which helps if you plan to mount a red dot. Shoot a couple of magazines of your chosen ammunition before you trust it with anything important.

The 4.0C name refers to the 4 inch barrel in a compact frame. That size is a good compromise for concealed carry and for general use at the range. It gives you a longer sight radius than a subcompact and is still small enough to hide under a shirt.

If you have wanted to try one of Springfield's new designs without paying the full retail price, a used example is a fair way to do it. It is sold used and as described. It ships to your FFL dealer, and the background check is completed there.
